Dr. Tommy Turner, Professor Zach Davis, and Dr. Dylan Barber will join 91Ƶ as the university continues expanding academic opportunities for students while remaining committed to its Christ-centered mission.

Dr. Tommy Turner — Director of the MBA Program

Dr. Tommy Turner will serve as Director of 91Ƶ’s new Master of Business Administration program.

Turner brings extensive experience in business, education, administration, and organizational leadership. He has served as Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer of Battiest Public Schools since 2019. Previously, he served as Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer of Mosquero Municipal Schools from 2016–2018 and as Science Department Head and part-time administrator at Mineola High School from 2013–2016.

Turner earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Tarleton State University and a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Economics and Management.

His combination of executive leadership, business knowledge, and educational administration will provide valuable leadership as 91Ƶ launches its new MBA program and prepares students for leadership and service in business and organizations.

Professor Zach Davis — Mathematics

Zach Davis will join 91Ƶ as a full-time Professor of Mathematics beginning Fall 2026.

Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma and his master’s degree in Education from Grand Canyon University. He has also pursued his doctorate in Education through Grand Canyon University.

Davis and his wife are relocating from Texas to Oklahoma as they become part of the 91Ƶ community. He has already contributed to 91Ƶ academically, teaching Foundations of Geometry and Measurement online during the Spring 2026 semester before beginning his full-time appointment.

His background in mathematics and education will further strengthen 91Ƶ’s commitment to providing students with strong instruction in the mathematical sciences.

Dr. Dylan Barber — Biology

Dr. Dylan Barber will join 91Ƶ as a full-time Professor of Biology.

Barber brings a strong background in biological science, medical physics, neuroscience research, teaching, and student mentorship. His academic preparation includes a Bachelor of Science in Medical Physics with a Biology minor from East Central University and advanced study in neuroscience at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

His experience includes graduate research at OU Health Sciences Center as well as teaching, lecturing, and mentoring students in a variety of academic settings. Barber has also participated in significant neuroscience research and has contributed to published research involving Alzheimer’s disease and neurological function.
Barber also brings experience in student mentoring, leadership, scientific presentations, and community outreach, complementing 91Ƶ’s emphasis on both academic excellence and personal investment in students.
“Each of these faculty members brings strong academic preparation, professional experience, and a desire to invest in students,” said Dr. Jay McCurry, Provost and Chief Academic Officer at 91Ƶ. “As 91Ƶ continues to grow, we are committed to surrounding our students with faculty who are excellent in their disciplines and who understand that education is ultimately about preparing students for lives of leadership, service, and Kingdom impact.”

The appointments also reflect 91Ƶ’s continued investment in academic growth. The addition of the MBA program, expanded faculty expertise in mathematics, and strengthened instruction in the biological sciences provide students with additional opportunities to prepare for graduate education, professional careers, ministry, and service.

“At 91Ƶ, growth is not simply about adding programs or increasing enrollment,” McCurry said. “It is about strengthening our ability to fulfill our mission. We want students to receive an excellent education in an environment where they are known personally, challenged academically, and encouraged to follow Christ faithfully.”

91Ƶ looks forward to welcoming Dr. Turner, Professor Davis, and Dr. Barber and their contributions to the university community during the 2026–2027 academic year.
